  The Wheel is one of the most important inventions in the history of mankind. The earliest picture of a wheel dates about 5500 years ago and is seen on the Standard of Ur , a mosaic which depicts an ancient civilization in Mesopotamia (now Iraq) around 6000 years ago. The picture shows a procession of heavy war wagons rolling along on wooden wheels. These first wheels were solid wood and made of three pieces joined together with wooden struts or strips of leather. The two side pieces were shaped like a crescent moon and the central pieces had rounded edges with a hole through which the axle threaded so that the wheel could turn. These heavy, wooden wheels revolutionized transport, because they made the carrying of heavy and awkward materials so much quicker and easier. As the years passed, the spoked wheels were invented.   HELLO GUYS, I will be explaining to you how we know what the stars are made of. Each Star Produces its own individual light. By splitting the light in a spectrum, astronomers can discover the chemical elements in the star’s atmosphere absorb light of different wavelengths. Sodium atoms, for example, only absorb light from the yellow part of the spectrum, called an absorption line, tells scientists that there is sodium in the star. By studying the various lines made on the spectrum, scientists can determine what the star is made up of.

  HELLO GUYS,  I will be defining to you what is a space launcher. SPACE LAUNCHERS are rockets that carry payloads into space. Just as there are many sizes of truck to carry different goods from place to place, there are many different space launchers, each suited to different purposes. Rockets such as the Mercury- Atlas were designed to be small and light, as they only had to carry one man. Russia’s Soyuz series are incredibly powerful, able to carry 20 tonnes into a low – Earth orbit. NASA’s Saturn V was designed to be powerful enough to carry three men to the Moon.  

  HELLO GUYS, I will be describing to you what are satellite galaxies. JUST AS THE SUN’S GRAVITY holds the objects of the Solar System in their orbits, the gravitational pull of the Milky Way keeps two smaller galaxies in tow. The two Magellanic Clouds consist of thousands of star clusters that orbit the Milky Way every 1.5 billion years. The Large Magellanic Cloud is made of the same mix of gas and stars as the Milky Way, but is less than one-twentieth as large. The Small Magellanic Cloud is slowly being pulled apart by the gravity of our galaxy.  

  HELLO GUYS, I will be defining what are the types of galaxies.   Galaxies comes in all shapes and sizes, but astronomers divide them into just a few main types. More than half of all galaxies are elliptical, named because of their egg like shape. They are made of large numbers of old, red stars and galaxies are spiral in shape, like the Milky Way. Old stars are packed tightly in their centres, while new stars are continually being born from the large amount of gas and dust in spiral arms. Some spiral galaxies are classed separately because their nucleus is elongated into a bar. The bar is made of stars in motion, and the spiral arms extend from the ends of the bar. Some galaxies cannot be classed as either spirals or ellipticals because they have no recognizable shape. These galaxies are called irregulars, and are full of gas in which new stars are forming.

  HELLO GUYS, I will be answering the question " Do galaxies come in groups" GALAXIES THEMSELVES MAY APPEAR to be enormous, but even they do not exist independently in space. They gather together in groups – from pairs to clusters that can contain thousands of galaxies. The Milky Way is only one of a cluster of around 30 galaxies that makes up the Local Group, an enormous collection of galaxies that stretches over millions of light years. The largest known cluster is the Virgo cluster, which contains over 2000 galaxies. Just as gravity causes galaxies to form clusters, it also brings together to form superclusters. These are the largest structures in the Universe, stretching hundreds of millions of light years across space.

Although nobody can be sure how the Universe began, most scientist believe that it was born from an enormous explosion 13 billion years ago. This explosion, called the “ Big Bang ”, was the point where space and time come into existence and all the matter in the cosmos started to expand. Before the Big Bang , everything in the Universe was compressed into a minuscule are a no bigger area than the nucleus of an atom.   The Big Bang was an unimaginably violet explosion that sent particles flying in every direction. A process called cosmic inflation caused the Universe to expand into an area bigger than the entire Milky Way in less than one second. Moments later, the temperature began to decrease, and the Universe began to settle down. Stars and galaxies began to form roughly one billion years after the Big Bang .
